I’ve led the Design of many product groups over the years and understand what it takes to create user-friendly consumer facing experiences. Specializing in app and mobile design, the products I’ve shipped while at Amazon, Time Inc, Meredith Publishing, WhitePages, and Cheezburger have all improved the overall user experience, earned top rankings, and 5 star reviews.
I often feel like a detective with the number of questions I ask while designing user-centric solutions. I start by asking “What is the problem we are trying to solve?” - I ask “Why?” and then I ask it again (and again).
As I work through this discovery phase, I start to consider how the proposed solutions will align with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Business requirements. It’s a fun puzzle to solve and, best of all - when done well - the big winner is you (the consumer/user).
There are many UX principles, design philosophies, guides, libraries and more that inform my work - here are some of my favorites - enjoy!
